In Detail

Heathrow is delighted to invite you to the stakeholder breakfast launch of Heathrow Business Summit Midlands, which will take place in Birmingham on Thursday 25th October 2018.

The breakfast will provide context for the meet the buyer event, and also to Heathrow’s supply chain strategy for its expansion, following Heathrow’s successful passing of the Airports National Policy Statement through Parliament in June.

Speakers lineup is:

Helen Bates, Chief Financial Officer, Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce
Andy Haynes, Director of Procurement, Heathrow

Now in its 22nd year, the Heathrow Business Summit has been delivering new opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses across the UK. The Summits are a unique opportunity for SMEs to connect and trade face-to-face with Heathrow’s supply chain, and for us to deliver on our promise that every nation and region should benefit from the proposed expansion of Heathrow.

2018 is a record year for the Business Summits programme, as Heathrow is taking the Business Summits to 10 regions – and will be in Birmingham for the first time.

The goal is to connect SMEs to each other, to Heathrow, and to the world and the airport is committed to using its position as a national asset for the particular benefit of SMEs around the country – as committed to in Heathrow 2.0, Heathrow’s plan for Sustainable Growth. Its aim is to enable more and more UK SMEs to connect to new opportunities for growth locally, nationally and internationally.

The airport spends up to £1.5bn annually with more than 1,400 suppliers from around the UK, and there will be more work on the horizon under our proposals for expansion. Construction of an expanded Heathrow would be Europe’s largest privately-funded infrastructure project, and small and medium-sized businesses will be critical to delivering the £14bn of private investment.

Heathrow is passionate that its expansion will be a project for all of the UK, which is why it is engaging early through the Business Summit.
