In line with Birmingham City Council's highly successful Business Charter, the Match My Project portal has been created to enable community organisations to post details of a project that needs support from local businesses.
It acts as a meeting point for the business and community sector to come together and collaborate on local projects in Birmingham.
Community organisations are urged to register on the new portal and any business that has signed up to the Birmingham Business Charter will need to use the portal as the primary channel for delivering community projects and social value commitments connected to the Charter.
The Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility is a set of guiding principles to which Birmingham City Council (BCC) will adhere and invites its contracted suppliers, the wider business community, other public sector bodies (including schools) and third sector organisations (including grant recipients) to adopt. In some cases, adopting the Charter is a requirement of specific council contracts or grants.
In all cases, adopting the Charter is a visible and recognisable sign of your organisation's commitment to the local economy and its communities.
Charter signatories will need to consider and describe how they can improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of Birmingham and its citizens.
The brand new Match My Project portal will work hand-in-hand with the Charter and signatories are required to use it to demonstrate their Social Value commitments to community projects, as illustrated in their action plans. The portal acts as an instant indicator of which businesses have delivered on their Corporate Social Responsibility promises with a visible leaderboard.
There are currently six live projects available for businesses to get involved in here >
