Day Opportunities Strategy and Draft Day Service Model Consultation Event 4
18th April 2019 10:30 to 13:00 Free
Birmingham City Council has refreshed the Adult Social Care Draft Day Opportunities Strategy which includes a draft Day Service Model. This will be publicly consulted upon for a 90 day period from 8th April 2019 to 6th July 2019.
The council recognises that people value day opportunities. This Draft Strategy and Service Model aims to provide a clear set of design principles and actions to support the proposed development of day opportunities in Birmingham and to ensure there is sufficient good quality provision and that it is accessible for all those that need it.
To provide some context to Day Opportunities, these services benefit approximately 1600 citizens with a wide range of support needs including older people, people with learning disabilities, autism, physical disability, and people with mental ill health across the city. Current services are delivered directly by the Council as well as by approximately 60 independent organisations.
We would like to encourage you to take part in our consultation to help us understand your views, concerns, and preferences when making the important final decisions about the proposed approach to delivering day opportunities in Birmingham.
