The essentials of running a successful small business are on the agenda at a new course for Birmingham business people, and free places are available now.
The Birmingham Small Business Centre is working with Focus Enterprises to provide expert training in finance, marketing, management and starting up.
Thanks to funding from Higher Education Funding Council, in conjunction with Coventry University, places are 100 per cent free and offered to anyone who is already self-employed or considering self-employment.
The course includes 30 hours of tutorage, results in a Certificate in Professional Development and covers:
- Finance - Helping you to understand sources of finance and how to use capital available to best effect
- Marketing - Understand the key concepts of marketing your initial ideas to successful launch and beyond
- Management - Equips you with the knowledge and capabilities to understand and maintain a small business
- Starting Up - Covering business planning and how to identify and develop options for growth.
The course has been written by Focus Enterprises, a subsidiary of Focus Birmingham and will be delivered by The Birmingham Small Business Centre at their premises - 55 Newhall Street, Birmingham, B3 3RB.
Courses start on Monday 24 October 2011 and places are limited - so book quickly by calling 0121 236 8484. Ask for Andrea or Pauline to reserve your place.
Courses are also run at weekends - so if you can't make it during the week, there’s still a space for you too!
The workshops will run on a three-weekly basis to cover the 30 hours: Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday, between 10am and 3pm, with an additional Saturday workshop from 9am until 2pm on a six-weekly basis.
