Economic, social and environmental benefits
The Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 means that public sector contracts for services above a value threshold have to consider the economic, social and environmental benefits of any bid.
Birmingham City Council is committed to going one step further and applying the principles of the Act to every purchase of goods or services. Attendees will find out how the council is setting an example for other authorities to follow.
With purchasing power of £1 billion, the council’s policy will have an impact all along the local supply chain – so suppliers need to be informed too.
Councillor Stewart Stacey (Cabinet Member for Commissioning at Birmingham City Council) and Sarah Crowley (Chief Executive of iSE) will illustrate the implications of the new legislation.
That’s why you can’t afford to miss this vital briefing. You’ll find out how your business or social enterprise could demonstrate economic, social and environmental benefits, and how partnerships between businesses and social enterprises could help.
New Energy Efficiency Framework
You’ll also hear from Buy For Good, the Community Interest Company (CIC) that awards local contracts on behalf of local authorities, housing associations and a range of other major bodies.
Buy For Good is unveiling its Energy Efficiency Framework, which will manage the purchase of goods and services for energy efficiency initiatives – one of the fastest-growing industries in the country today.
If your organisation is in the energy efficiency market – either as a buyer or a supplier – you need to know about Buy For Good’s Energy Efficiency Framework.
Plus, you’ll be in the company of an average attendance of more than 100 local business owners, directors and key decision-makers, all keen to make new contacts in our renowned open networking session.
A range of exhibition stands will showcase the cream of the industry’s crop and your business could be among the big names on show.
Exhibition stands for ‘Social Value for Buyers and Suppliers’ can be booked by emailing enquiries@finditinbirmingham.com – but be quick!
